Exploring Sustainability: TAS Environmental Education Tour at Tzu Chi HYC

On the crisp Saturday morning of October 21, 2023, TAS members embarked on an enlightening journey to Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre (HYC) for an Environmental Education Tour. This unique experience aimed to foster awareness about environmental impacts and promote sustainable living practices.

Tzu Chi volunteers led TAS members on a historical journey, outlining Tzu Chi's four primary missions in Charity, Medicine, Education, and Humanistic Culture. The evolution into four additional paths—International Relief, Bone Marrow Donor Registry, Environmental Protection, and Volunteers—revealed the organization's extensive impact.

TAS members delved into the Sustainability and Individual Action Path. Each station covered topics such as 5R, Cost of Eating Meat, Household Waste, Fast Fashion, and Plastic Waste. Tzu Chi volunteers encouraged reflection and self-assessment through completion of the questionnaires.

The educational tour concluded with a free and easy lunch at Real Food, where TAS members savoured delicious plant-based dishes, reinforcing the importance of sustainable food choices.
